At the age of 13, I joined a rock band of my brother's friends and I began to rock local stages. 
-Thanks to my brother for introducing me to Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Leonard Cohen, Billy Joel, Lynyrd Skynyrd and much more.

Having listened and studied famous blues musicians like B.B. King, Alexis Korner, Champion Jack Dupree, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton and so on

a little bit later Stevie Wonder, Al Jarreau, Temptations, Johnny Guitar Watson, George Benson and Luther Vandross for example, the foundation was laid to enter the world of soul and funk in 1982.

At the same time, I played as a guitarist in a big band and completed the rockband 'Circle', being their guitarist in the vinyl-production 'Foreign Skies' in 1986, which was produced by 'musicvision', Berlin and published by 'EMI-Electrola', Cologne. This was followed by concerts throughout Germany and Switzerland.
At the beginning of the 90s I met an old friend of mine again. Udo Macke-brandt. 
We started to compose and perform our own pieces as jazz guitar duo, combining blues, jazz and traditional music. In 1996 we produced and distributed our CD 'Jazzica-Gambarogno' independently. We gave a lot of concerts and participated also in the jazz-festival Luxembourg.

One time I wanted to study guitar but I decided then to take a different path. Although working as interior architect today, I have always remained a passionate musician until now. You‘re invited to feel the spirit! 
At the end of 2023 my new album 'Andreas O. Franke - Brise d‘ été' was published. Inspired by corsican music and corsican way of life, I composed and recorded pieces for cetera. A traditional corsican, stringed instrument.
